Ohio State president Gordon Gee finds himself under fire for sending hurtful comments in the direction of Notre Dame at the December meeting of the school's athletic council.
What makes the situation even worse for Gee is that his tasteless comments were recorded.
According to Matt Scalici of AL.com, Gee referred to Notre Dame as "those damn Catholics" that can't be trusted. He also mentioned that the university's priests are not good partners.
The Associated Press obtained the recordings under a public records request.
Gee has apologized for his comments and is undergoing a "remediation plan," according to the report.

"The comments I made were just plain wrong, and in no way do they reflect what the university stands for," he said. "They were a poor attempt at humor and entirely inappropriate."
