Moving Forward, Leaving the Past

Moving Forward

Not a good thing to turn back the clock

To relive the past

It is not the purpose of time”

Time goes forward…

Looking back has the purpose of

“Purveying the territory of life, so far in one’s life”

To gain perspective, knowledge, wisdom and understanding

Of life, love, liberty

and love of God, self and others

My great aunt Lydia never looked back

Once she left a spot, she never looked back

One would have to run and get in front of her

To speak with her

Dwelling in the past and desiring older times

Are contrary to the direction of life

And robs of us precious moments in life

That were missed or not enjoyed

Life continues going forward

In death, sickness, disease, bad times

And the whole lot of life’s events

Sometimes, it seems  so so cruel

Could time just stop for a minute

To allow one to grieve, poise and to reflect

Mother time says, “no”, emphatically

It is a waste of life and time

To dwell and desire

The Past
