Can't They Work It Out?

Cuba Gooding Jr.'s Wife Files for Separation After 20 Years

Looks like Cuba Gooding Jr.'s going to be showing his wife the money.
Sara Kapfer filed for legal separation from the actor on Monday after 20 years of marriage citing irreconcilable differences. In the documents, Kapfer lists their separation date as April 16, 2014. The high school sweethearts were married in March 1994.
Kapfer has asked for joint legal and physical custody of their three children. According to the documents, child support will be determined later.
Last year, Gooding, 46, admitted on "The View" that it had been challenging to find time to spend with his wife while he was performing in "The Trip to Bountiful" on Broadway.
"When you do films, you're away from the family, but I can still fly them in or fly home to see them, so my wife and I have this rule — never go more than three or four weeks without seeing each other," he said. "But I knew this commitment meant that I would be in New York City for a long time… so it's a bit of a pull on that to keep the household together. But she allowed me to be indulgent for obvious reasons. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity."
Still, the Oscar winner gushed about his longtime love.
"I got a wonderful lady that knows how to run the household even when I'm not there," adding they are "blessed with wonderful kids."
There may have been signs that there was trouble in paradise. Earlier this month, Gooding sold their home in Pacific Palisades, California, for just under $10 million.
A rep for the actor has yet to comment on the separation.
