My heart breaks when I see a picture like this. We, all, need our mothers!

Three-month-old pygmy elephant Joe hasn't had a great start to life. Last month he broke our hearts after he was photographed trying desperately to rouse his dead mother, believed to have been poisoned by poachers in Malaysia. But Joe's tragic story might have a happy ending after all. He was rescued and taken to Lok Kawi zoo, where he met nature reserve keeper Augustin David (aka his new best pal). The lucky 29-year-old said his elephant charge is "active, playful and naughty." Click through the pics above to see their budding friendship — and have your faith in humanity restored. [Source]
