Two cases of men in Spain amputating their own hands for insurance payoffs have been uncovered by investigators, who note a 50-percent jump in fraud over the last five years. In one instance, the claimant sliced off his hand with an electric saw, then said he'd lost it in a car accident and filed 11 claims worth more than $3 million.
