Police: Man, 86, kills grandson's girlfriend, self

A detective passes under crime scene tape as New York City Police investigate the scene of a double shooting in the Rosebank section of Staten Island

NEW YORK (AP) — Authorities say an 86-year-old man shot his grandson in the head and then killed the man's girlfriend inside a home on Staten Island before fatally shooting himself.
New York police Det. Annette Markowski says Heriberto Pagan, of Brooklyn, shot his 47-year-old grandson outside of a house Friday evening before shooting 28-year-old Claritle Christina Huerta in the head inside. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Police say Pagan then fled to his car and shot himself in the head. He was found lying outside of his car.
His grandson was listed in critical condition at Staten Island University Hospital.
Markowski says the investigating is ongoing as of Saturday morning.
