Only for the Rich....

In hard economic times for everyone and especially a dwindling middle class, advertisements, such as this, should be banned. It's a slap in our faces when they keep telling us that it is the poor and disadvantaged and social programs that are the major cause for our economic woes. This is such a political lie that some of us willing accept. Wake up, people.

With all eyes on New Orleans this Super Bowl weekend, the city's bars and restaurants have had a hard time distinguishing themselves from the competition. One crafty establishment has resorted to the oldest trick in the book to get attention: a hyper-priced cocktail. Enter the $10,000 "Key to the City" cocktail, available through Feb. 12 at the Windsor Court Hotel. The drink features D'Oliveiras Malvasia 1907 Madeira Cobbler, served in a silver julep cup with fresh fruit and souvenir gold key. It might sound like a rip-off, but most of your money is going to a future two-night penthouse stay at the hotel, spa treatments, dinner and a butler, which are included in this drink's tab, along with some other goodies.
