He Couldn't Make It to His 26th Birthday. How Sad!

Those of us who read this article should understand that you are blessed to see another day. So many young people are dying before they can really experience life. In the 50's and 60's, my time, when a young person died, it was quite an horrendous event. Now, it's very commonplace and we have become, out necessity, immune to many life experiences that might otherwise shake our humanity

The boxing world is reeling Friday after the death of Omar Henry, a 25-year-old welterweight. Henry was diagnosed with stage 4 gall bladder cancer in November and spent three months undergoing treatment at the University of Chicago Hospital. With a professional boxing record of 12-0-1, he was a rising star, but once he was diagnosed, his dreams changed; he posted on his Facebook page that he wanted to live to see his 26th birthday, which was Feb. 8. In a December interview, Henry said, "Life and death has never come so close, especially since I was so close to the top of my career. … Now, I could literally be dead tomorrow. … God has a purpose and we can't question God."
