“To Represent”, We must!!
All life is good and
must be represented for the good that it is in
“Human qualities”
Representation is a “must”
I must represent…
You must represent…
We must represent…
…the goodness of life
…the goodness of self
…the goodness of others
Representation, “we must”.
My first recognition
of the concept and construct of representation came at the age of 7 or 8
"Mother said to all of
her children, emphatically, before leaving the house…
“Always have on clean underwear and clean socks
when you leave this house
You represent me!!!
I don´t ever want to go the
emergency room with you
and you have on dirty underwear and socks”
This idea has stayed
with me up until now!
However, it was in
high school and during the Civil Rights Era, where I learned the true meaning of
representation
Dr. Martin Luther King
Jr. said
“If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he
should sweep streets even as a
Michelangelo painted
or Beethoven composed
music
or Shakespeare wrote poetry.
He should sweep streets so well that
all the
hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say,
"Here lived a great street sweeper
who did his job well.”
Representation
Represent the best
Represent the highest
moral virtue
One virtue at a time,
if need be!!
Represent the best at whatever
you epdo in life
“Become a Fulfilled Person”
Representation
Like it or not, we are,
for sure, representing something!!
