Xenophobia
and Racism in Peru
Most
scholars believe xenophobia is more innocuous than racism, but both are due to
tremendous ignorance about the world and the people who are in the world.
Xenophobia is an intense or irrational dislike or fear of people from other
countries. Both racism and xenophobia are conceived in ignorance.
Many
xenophobic persons have never left their neighborhood in their entire life; and
even less to travel and to travel to other countries
Peru
suffers from tremendous xenophobia and YET, tourism is its THIRD largest
industry!
Even young
Peruvians suffer from it because their government supports it. I have written elsewhere the, often, interference fo government upon our lives
My dismay
is that many young Peruvians will never know their true potential in the world,
in life; and the diversity that exists among approximately 7 billion people on
earth
For me, it
has always been a childhood dream to visit Peru and I am truly grateful for the
experience to visit Peru
