In the 12-page document, Arias says attorney Kirk Nurmi hasn't seen her since May when jurors reached an impasse on whether to sentence her to life in prison or death for the 2008 murder of boyfriend Travis Alexander.
Arias wrote that Nurmi has little tolerance for her emotional and psychological shortcomings. She also tried to fire him in June, but Judge Sherry Stephens did not grant her request.
Nurmi could not be reached for comment.
Arias was in court Thursday for a settlement conference. The court says no agreement was reached and the case was referred back to Stephens.
Arias has another hearing scheduled for Nov. 1.
