Neither "White Trash" or "Black Face" is Funny

Some people don't think it's funny to dress up as 'white trash'

Huron Park Elementary in Roseville, Mich., had a costume night Thursday — and one woman showed up dressed as "white trash." That meant she painted her (and her daughter's face) white, and the duo wore white trash bags with the words "white trash" across them. Turns out, people weren't thrilled.
"Rosevill is known for 'white trash' and you just don't do that at a kids function," Megan Manchenko, a shocked parent, told My Fox Detroit. "You can't have weapons, you can't have blood, you can't have gory stuff. But racial slurs? Go right ahead." The school notes that certain costumes are banned at school-sanctioned events, and the principal did confront the unnamed mother about the costume. But officials added that it's hard to make parents abide by the same rules as students.[Source] [Source]
