To be fair, Martha Stewart was set up -- and not in a going-to-prison-for-insider-trading kind of way (because she set that one up herself). TMZ recently asked Martha whether she or Gwyneth Paltrow is a "better lifestyle coach." It's a question that's been asked repeatedly of both Martha, who in October declared that she "started
this whole category of lifestyle," and Gwyneth, whose Goop.com website seeks to educate the masses on the preciousness of monogrammed oyster napkins, the best luxury boutique hotels in Puerto Vallarta and the reason why your 8-year-old needs a $300 bespoke wool tailored jacket this season.
Anyway, Martha seemed perplexed that TMZ would deign to compare her empire to little ol' Goop, and promptly blew off the notion that a dilettante such as Goopy could possibly mentor the masses in the art of fine homemaking, "Lifestyle coach?" she scoffed. "Oh, for heaven's sake. You have to live to be a coach." Put that in your pastry bag and pipe it, Gwyneth.
