Sure, Louisville is the defending national champion. And Southern Methodist has seen quite a revival under Larry Brown. But a regular-season game between the Cardinals and Mustangs? Not exactly the must-see event of the year. Or maybe it is. After all, how many former U.S. presidents hug the mascot at Duke-North Carolina games? On March 5, SMU mascot Peruna got an armful (or two) of George W. Bush. Hopefully he saved some hugs for the Mustangs players, though — they likely needed hugs after losing by 13 at home.
