File this under adorable: Imani, an 18-year-old gorilla at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, was able to hug her baby on Monday for the first time since giving birth 12 days ago. The baby (she's still waiting for a name) was born via cesarean section and had to undergo surgery to repair a collapsed lung. As if that wasn't enough, she then came down with pneumonia. Her mom was waiting for her to get better, though, and the pair quickly bonded; according to zookeepers, Imani sniffed the baby, then cradled her before beginning to nurse. "After about a five-minute bout, the baby fell asleep, which is exactly what we were looking for," said animal care supervisor Andrew Stallard. --Catherine Garcia
