Definitive
Times for Inner Cleansing
Especially
after one becomes older
Because,
there is a tendency to hold on to former things
With age, there becomes a panoramic view
That is
absent in the youth
An older
person has distance, if nothing else
Many older
persons lack experience and other life measurements
They need
cleansing, as well
However, this is not, perhaps, what Socrates had in mind with
"An
unexamined life is not worth living"
One speaks, here, of intervals in life, even at a young age
For “self-examination”
But for those of us who are older
There are truly definitive times for
re-examination of our lives
They are truly "disinctive apparent times"
Have we fulfilled our moral duties?
Have we let go of the falsehoods of life?
Are we responding to life’s moments in the
right way?
Are we loving our neighbors?
Older, here, starts at about 40 years of age
