Just too much mental illness in America

NYPD: Man throws 3-year-old son, himself off roof

Police officers walk in front of a high-rise apartment building where they say a man and his son died after plummeting from the building in New York on Sunday, Dec. 22.

Police in New York say a 35-year-old man apparently threw his 3-year-old son from a 52-story apartment building before jumping to his death.
NEW YORK — Police said a man involved in a custody dispute apparently threw his 3-year-old son off the roof of a 52-story Manhattan apartment building before jumping to his death.
Police said they received an emergency call reporting two jumpers from the building around noon Sunday. Officers found 35-year-old Dmitriy Kanarikov and his son on the lower rooftops of two nearby buildings.
The Brooklyn man was pronounced dead at the scene and his son, Kirill Kanarikov, was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Officials said the boy's mother had custody of the child. They said the father had visiting rights and was supposed to hand the boy over to the mother at a police precinct Sunday afternoon.
Police said the father did not live in the Upper West Side building listed as South Park Tower. The building is a short distance away from Columbus Circle and Lincoln Center.
