Steakhouse Apologizes After Mistreating Cancer Patient for Wearing a Hat

Morton's Steakhouse got itself into a tough situation, and no we're not talking about a cut of meat, after allegedly mistreating a cancer patient that wanted to wear a hat at one of the restaurants. According to Eater, Robert Chambers was at an office Christmas party at a Nashville Morton's outpost when he decided to put on a hat to keep warm since his chemotherapy treatments have a tendency make him cold. Apparently he was asked by an employee to take off the headwear, which he immediately did. However, members of his party tried to explain to the staff that he had donned the outerwear for medical reasons, but the manager stated that he would need a doctor's note to wear the hat. It's unclear exactly what happened next, but Chambers left the restaurant and other members of his party were allegedly asked to go as well, explained other party attendees that wrote a slew of negative reviews on restaurant's Yelp page.
Interestingly enough, Morton's dress code policy doesn't even include anything about hats. The restaurant has since apologized profusely for the incident and the COO Tim Whitlock personally reached out to Chambers to ameliorate the situation. Morton's Steakhouse posted the following explanation on Facebook regarding the incident:
