Baby abandoned in park now shares name with the dog that found her

Baby Jade is resting and contented in a hospital crib now, but only because of the heroics of the dog whose name she's been given. Roger Wilday walking Jade the German shepherd through a community park in Birmingham, England, when the dog headed for the bushes and wouldn't heed his owner's calls. When Wilday investigated, he found a baby wrapped in a towel inside a shopping bag from a toy store — barely 24 hours old and with the umbilical cord still attached. "She wouldn't leave until I'd seen it," Wilday said. "She is a hero dog. There was no one else in the park at the time and it was very cold."
Doctors at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital agreed that a few more hours in the park could have been fatal for the 6-pound girl, and police have released photos and are performing DNA tests in hopes of locating the mother. [Source]
