Whoopi Goldberg may have been invited to the Oscars as a presenter on Sunday (March 2), but she's none too pleased that "The View" wasn't represented on the red carpet. In fact, she went so far as to call out ABC while live on the air.

During Tuesday's (March 4) episode, Goldberg didn't hold back. "I had a great time at the Oscars," she says, before adding, "I was ashamed to walk down that carpet to see every other daytime show represented except 'Rachael Ray,' and we weren't there. We are the only show -- I hate to ring my own bell, but what the h*** -- 'The View' is the only show that has an Oscar winner on the panel, and I thought it was a shame."

(Goldberg, who introduced Pink for the "Wizard of Oz" tribute at the ceremony, won her Oscar in 1990 for her work in "Ghost.")

Barbara Walters agreed with her co-host, adding that she's never felt the network promoted them fairly.

"'The View' was created 17 years ago," the venerable newswoman says. "Now that I'm not going to be here forever, I'm gonna brag too! We don't get promos the way others [do], we're sort of the stepchildren of it. Bill [Geddie] and I have done Academy Award specials year after year, but you know, we're still here and [Whoopi] we're very proud of you!"

Are you surprised that Goldberg and Walters took their own network to task while on air? Or were they right to be disappointed in how ABC has treated "The View"? Sound off in the comments below.
