70-year-old retired welder knocks young intruder the heck out

Old coots don’t get much tougher than Michael Salame. The 70-year-old was asleep last Saturday in his home in Gardner, Mass., when a sound woke him up. A neighbor, 24-year-old Timothy Adams, had apparently smashed a window, climbed inside, then used a door to walk back outside. After Salame called 911, he came face-to-face with Adams, who had reentered the house. Applying his best Kung-fu grip, Salame grabbed the intruder by the throat and slammed him to the ground. Adams, who later told his mom he was blackout drunk, got to his feet and tried to break for the stairs, but Salame "decked him three times with a right." Salame, a retired welder, has eight heart stents and nerve damage. [Source]
