How Tracy and Michael Met:

Two years later, in 1987, they were working together again on the movie Bright Lights, Big City, and started dating.
They were engaged during Christmas 1987.
Michael about meeting Tracy again: "The next spring I was casting a movie in New York, and I saw Tracy, who had come in to read for a part. I said, "How's so-and-so?" She said, "We're not together anymore." I was like, "(a) You have the job and (b) let's have lunch." By the time the movie was finished, we were on vacation together -- and less than a year later we were married."

Michael about their wedding: "... it was a great wedding, a tremendous success ... we paid for our privacy in the coin of bad press ... It was a price well worth paying because it enabled us in a single moment not only to join together in the ritual of marriage, but to draw a line and create a space apart for ourselves. A place of our very own that, unbeknownst to us then, would help us to weather a much more serious storm ahead."

We worked together really well but didn't socialize or have deep, heart-to-heart talks. I really don't think either of us looked at each other romantically ... But then, when I was doing Bright Lights, Big City, Tracy came in to audition and she was single and I was single, and ba-boom! It happened pretty quickly. We were engaged by that Christmas, weren't we?"
