Love and its Power

A  Short Treatise on Love and its Power

The power of love! God is love. They are synonymous. My life is embedded in love and therefore, God. There is nothing more powerful than love. Not even death!! Simply stated, God is the personification of love. And if one believes that he is the great “I Am”, He is always present. He has no past. He has no future. He just “IS”.

I have loved all of my life, long before I even knew the meaning of love. I always loved everyone, since I can remember. As I grew older and began to understand what love meant, I realized that I had been doing it for long as I can remember. I enjoyed it and enjoy loving, maximally. Today and always, I would not want to live without love and loving someone. Synonymously, I would not want to live without God. As I have matured, I have, recently, truly realized that my unique and personal mission in life is to love everyone, without conditions. When I became truly aware of my calling, I melted within. What a Calling! Today, I fell into one of those very special existentialist moments with every bit my existence and purpose .

It is very obvious to me that everyone does not understand the meaning and existentialist meaning of love in the world. It’s such a simple thing to do when you know God. We make love so complicated. For Kantians, you would agree that the most profound categorical imperative would be to love one another. “I make love an unconditional moral law that applies to all rational beings and is independent of any personal motive or desire.”

With respect to the expression of love, there is no greater human expression. In the universe of human expressions, there is none greater. As we live and express, daily, human experiences and phenomena in the universe of expressions, why not choose to always express love in its many manifestations? Indeed, love benefits everyone.

As an ambassador of love, I am amazed that so many people choose not to express love openly and freely. I am so truly blessed of God, as I get to know him better. I understand, more each day, the true meaning of love and its source. Not by any means is love and loving without its struggles. Unconditional love means loving your enemies and those that we might think don’t deserve it. Needless to say, many even find it difficult to love those that may truly deserve it.

Jesus was spat upon, accused of lies, beaten, betrayed with a crown of thorns, pierced in his side and yet he loved us so much that He died for all of us. No greater love hath any man than to lie down his life for a friend. Indeed, not only are we his friends, but his sons and daughters. And all that he asks is that we love one other. I am so inspired to learn to love better each and every day of my life. So related to love to forgiveness!

Yesterday, I was in the supermarket. I saw the cutest elderly couple, shopping. I told them that they were cute. They smiled. Then I asked, “How long have the two of you been married?” The woman said, “59 years”. I, then asked, what is the key to a successful marriage? They spouted out, “We are Christians”. That did not satisfy me because all pronounced Christians don’t love as they should. She then said, “Forgiveness is the key”. And I smiled.
