Motives, Part 2

Let No Man Write My Epitaph

“Let no man write my epitaph;

For as no man who knows my motives dare now vindicate them,

Let not prejudice or ignorance asperse them. Let them rest in ...”

What is the legacy that you are building?

What is the legacy that you are leaving behind?

How will you be remembered?

Does it even matter?

Of course it does

It’s pure education

Let no man write my epitaph

Will the memories of you be

Wonderful, devastating or none at all

Some never think about such things

Others wait until their deathbed

To tell the truth about something and confessions

It is at least a moral acknowledgement

Of the truth

To ask for forgiveness is

Perhaps, the greatest of all human behaviors

Let no man write my epitaph

Motives, Part 1

Motives

Only a totally rational being understands all motives

Reasons for doing something are not always known

Motives are deep, profound, innate, personal and spiritual

Criminal cases rely a lot on motive

To make a judgment

Some motives will never be known

It is not always what the person tells you

Motives define who we are

They are, often, misunderstood

We are human and make mistakes

Motives are what Kant spoke of

The outcome of an act or behavior is not

Always good and ethical

If the motive is bad, as it were

As Plato said to check on motives

An unexamined life is a life NOT worth living”

The All Rational Being  knows  all motives

Perfectly

Blessing, Serendipity, Chance or Luck

Blessing, Serendipity, Chance or Luck

Four ways of describing

An unexpected wonderful event

That comes a the right time

A  propos

Blessings proceed from a Being

The other three from a Non Being

From an unidentifiable source in the universe

It is dependent upon one’s belief system

Sometimes, good things happen at the right moment

Other times, good things happen to horrible people,

However, no worries

For the sun shines on the just, as well as the unjust

These wonderful and unforgettable moments

Often come at a moment that one needs a break

From the, often, tortures of life

We had no control over the event

So we relegate the event to either

Blessing, Serendipity, Chance or Luck

Interesting that a blessing comes from a being

The others, from something else in the universe

Perhaps the collision of molecules

Or it was just in the numbers

Like the lottery

Some events are so

Definitive, right on target, my name on it,

Healing, specific, awfully amazing

In these occasions

Some have “prayed”

Others say it is "the numbers game of life"

The Perfect....

The Perfect….

The perfect person

The perfect man

The perfect woman

The perfect family

The perfect child

The perfect husband

The perfect wife

The perfect teacher

The perfect neighbor

The perfect governor

THEY HAVE NEVER EXISTED

BUT IMPERFECTION HAS

This truth is a call for

Understanding, Forgiveness, Mercy
Because

We are all guilty of imperfection

Embracing Struggle

Embracing Struggle

Struggle is to try very hard to do, achieve, or deal with something

That is difficult or that causes problems

Suffice it to say that humans struggle in so many different ways

Struggle has intrinsic value

Some of the more important life struggles are the achievement of

Freedom, equality, moral dignity, health and similar constructs

The only way to get past struggle

Successfully

“Is to embrace it”

Make it a part of your soul

Indeed, and yes, it is painful

Sometimes very painful

Struggle stimulates self esteem

It is cleansing and purging

More importantly, healing and strengthening

One must work with the process of the struggle

Sometimes it includes acceptance

Of  things you cannot change

So many things in life that we cannot change

Struggle may involve making difficult choices

Struggle produces one’s greatest  achievements in life

Struggle pays off great dividends

Through its embrace

Boredom and the Monotony of Life

Customs, traditions of men and rituals

Causes for the boredom and the monotony of  fife

Custom, a practice or belief of an individual or a group for a long time

Tradition, a custom transferred from generation to generation

Ritual, a religious or solemn ceremony consisting of  actions and prescribed orders.

Therein lies much of the monotony of life

Many have long out lasted their time and value

Many are hindrances and detriments to humanity

Life Can Be Monotonous

Even after a wonderful vacation

It's back to the nuts, bolts and screws of life

Everyday life, that is

Faces to the grind of customs, rituals and traditions

Working 9-5, what a way to make a living

Those who are rich enough, not needing to work

Also face the monotony  life

We all get bored for one reason or another

If true, for only a moment

One of life’s truer conundrums

Life, so beautiful for infinite reasons

Yet  monotonous

Deeper meaning for boredom and monotony

The search for something

Perfect and eternal

Beyond time and space as we know them

It is every man’s search

Believe it or not

For Those Who Dare to Believe

Oh to believe!

For those of us who

Dare to live life to the fullest

Engaging every experience

Not always knowing the positive certainty of the outcome

But believing anyhow

Overcoming every doubt

There must be a solid foundation

For such endeavors

God is my solid foundation

Traveling throughout Latin America for three years

What an experience

What reliance on faith

For all of my shortcomings

Faith and doubt are always in tension

With each other

But we choose our heroes in life

One of my mine is Moses

Down by the red sea

Pharaoh in pursuit

And the Children of Israel

Can’t turn back

But must go forward

A block, a wall, a hindrance, too much water

Oh whatever shall I do

Wait on the salvation of the Lord

To provide a way of escape

God has delivered so many times before

Oh to believe!

Often, just believing in the idea of God

Is sufficient

Even if not fully committed

Because even the idea of God is powerful

Experiences in Life

The vastness of life's experiences unknown

Experiences, infinitum ad nauseum

Life, being, the greatest experience of all

A mere thought is an experience

With emotions running the whole gamut

Each experience is unique

But not necessarily new

For there is nothing new under the sun

However, we do not choose all of our experiences

Nor can we control all of our personal experiences

But we do have some choices

In the experiences we have or make for ourselves

And for the good of others, as well

No worries though

Most experiences are just a result of being human

Yet, even after making all of the right choices

Our lives are still inundated with bad experiences

Everyone loves good experiences

What matters most is

How we interpret and what we do with the bad ones

Bad experiences are master teachers

For they build character

Each experience is an innate teacher

And we must learn from them

Surviving bad experiences is the key to life

We should not be overcome with bad experiences

They build endurance

And endurance builds strength of character

To Be Free

Living free is a true blessing

Not encumbered by the complications of this life

Enslavement

The freedom of which I speak

Is not ordained by and of mortal men

No civil rights or humanitarian ethics involved

Planned and executed by mortal men

Freedom that cannot be taken away by others

Freedom that proceeds from a higher power

Freedom that is beyond human expression

Freedom to which men were born

Free to speak

Free to choose

Free to live

Free to die

Free to be in this world, but not of this world

"And he that the son of man sets free, is free indeed"

The Spark of Life

The Greatest Miracle Ever

Life, the unexplainable phenomenon

What a marvel and spiritual blessing

In which we all partake

We only know of its characteristics and its manifestations

Beyond the finite knowledge, wisdom and understading

Of mere mortal men

No scientist, nor philosopher, nor theologian

Knows or is capable to explain

The spark that says “life"

Or that moment when life is conceived

When only select sperm and ovum form life

Leaving behind

An infinite number of unfertilized eggs and unfulfilled sperm

For life belongs to God

A phenomenon that belongs to him, alone

Dr. Frankenstein tried, but failed

Oh! life in its many wonderful manifestations

Butterflies and daisies

The greatest spark in existence

Unknown to science

How glorious is life!

To touch, to taste, to smell, to hear, to see

To think, to emote, to sense, to grow

The infinite beauty of life!!

That many angels desire to look into

But given only to a select few within

 “The realm of existence"

Trump didn't let Sean Spicer meet the pope even though he really wanted to

Sam Speedy•Mashable•May 24, 2017

The Trumps and some White House officials met with Pope Francis on Wednesday, but one figure was notably missing: Sean Spicer. And apparently, he's pretty upset about it.
A source close to the White House told CNN that Spicer not being brought along to the meeting was "a slight," and that to meet Papa Francesco was "all he wanted."
Granting the one thing Spicer wanted was, uhh, just not on Trump's mind we guess.
Though he did manage to bring along Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, in addition to Jared and Ivanka.

Jared and I were honored to join the President @realDonaldTrump and First Lady @FLOTUS in meeting His Holiness Pope Francis
In a shocking turn of events, people really felt for Spicey! If the man wants to meet the pope, just let him

Physician, "Heal Thyself"

Heal Thyself

My most profound and deepest thought is to

Always have perfect thoughts about healing

As much as possible

For therein lies the truth

We all have the power within

For our own healing

Some of us, even, have the gift of healing

“Physician, heal thyself”

Is a truth of old

Jesus said in Luke 4; 23
And he said unto them, ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country”

"You heal others, but cannot heal yourself"

Health is also a state of mind

Hypochondriacs are the prime example at one end

I can heal myself is at the other end of the spectrum

Belief is fundamental

Knowledge and Information are indispensable

Some healing actions are pure natural things to do

The warmth of your own hands

There is not always the need for man-made medicine

Healing has always been and forever will remain

Spiritual

Homelessness

I am inclined to respond

In a humane way

No matter the reasons why, cause or effect

Just for the sake of humanity

Such a deep and spiritual connection

The numbers are startling and startlingly

In the sixties and seventies

Virtually no homelessness

People were more humane

And we took each other in

The epidemic of homelessness began

During the Reagan Administration

When he closed state mental institutions

The mentally ill were released into the streets

Halfway houses that came as a result were inadequate

To keep this segment of the population

Compensated by their prescription drugs

And health care

Needless to say

There are so many other reasons for homelessness

That run the gamut of reasons

One reason is the lack of affordable housing

My response is to

Not pass judgment

It could be me

So, I help

Regardless of the reason, cause or effect

And however they choose to use the gift

It doesn’t matter to me

A state of gratefulness is the reason why

Marching to the Beat of a Different Drummer

Marching to a Different Drum Beat

I Hear A Different Drum Beat Than Others

And especially, at night, when I doze off to sleep

It’s like the heartbeat

The rhythm of my life

That I am inclined so deeply to listen to

No matter what anybody thinks or believes

Including the woman who gave me life

My mother, whom I love dearly

A beat, so extremely innate and personal

I have heard many different drum beats

And maybe tried walking to them

Some very enticing

Just didn’t feel right

The reasons are my own

The drum beat of my existence

God

The Idea of God

In all of discourse among men

Including atheists

There is no idea greater than the idea of God

As we relegate to this idea, these qualities

Infinity, Eternity and Absolute Perfection

There is nothing greater than

Infinity, eternity and perfection

Pope John XXIII

I am not Catholic, but
I like all the Popes in my lifetime
Pope John XXIII was my favorite
What a kind man
He had the perfect pot belly for a good father

Pope Francis has a place in my heart, as well

Pope Francis jokingly asks First Lady Melania Trump what she feeds the President

Are you feeding him Potica?
What a wonderful question to break ice!
Potica is a sweet nut bread, lololol

·        Small talk in a foreign language; one of the many potential stumbling blocks a fledgling world leader would be well-advised to side-step on their first trip abroad.
And so it fell to Donald Trump’s wife, Melania, and her pontiff host, Pope Francis, to engage in what initially appeared to be a linguistic muddle during the US President’s Vatican visit.
Greeting the First Couple, the Pope asked Ms Trump if she fed her husband a nut-filled Slovenian cake. “What are you feeding him, potica?” he asked.
The pontiff was referring to a traditional sweet bread, which can also be filled with chocolate or honey, and is baked in the form of a Swiss roll.
A translator repeated the question in English and Ms Trump, who grew up in the Slovenian town of Sevnica, replied, “potica, yes”, before both parties laughed.
However, the Vatican initially suggested Pope Francis was not enquiring about potica, pronounced po-teet-sah, but about another bread-based food, pizza - a mistake repeated by some who watched the video.
The Vatican later clarified that he had in fact been asking about the cake, and there was no mention of whether the pontiff had been referring to the stature of Mr Trump, who at a reported 16-and-a-half-stone has previously acknowledged he "could lose a little weight".
Mr Trump met the Pope for 30 minutes on Wednesday morning, during his first overseas trip since entering the White House.

He was given a small sculptured olive tree and told through the interpreter that it symbolised peace.
"It is my desire that you become an olive tree to construct peace," the Pope said, speaking in Spanish.
Mr Trump responded: "We can use peace."
Pope Francis also gave Mr Trump a signed copy of his 2017 peace message whose title is "Nonviolence - A Style of Politics for Peace", and a copy of his 2015 letter on the need to protect the environment from the effects of climate change.
"Well, I'll be reading them," Mr Trump said.
Mr Trump gave the Pope a boxed set of five first-edition books by US civil rights leader Martin Luther King.
As Mr Trump and the Pope said goodbye at the door of the study, the President said: "Thank you, thank you. I won't forget what you said."
In a statement, the Vatican said the two sides agreed on their "joint commitment in favour of life and freedom of worship and conscience”.
The statement continued: "It is hoped that there may be serene collaboration between the state and the Catholic Church in the United States, engaged in service to the people in the fields of healthcare, education and assistance to immigrants."
It said talks also covered promoting peace through dialogue with people of other faiths
