PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island (AP) - The widow of one of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects will ask the Massachusetts medical examiner to release his body to his family, her attorney said Tuesday.
Attorney Amato DeLuca said in a statement that Katherine Russell wants Tamerlan Tsarnaev's remains released to the Tsarnaev family.
Tsarnaev, 26, died after a gunfight with authorities. Police said he ran out of ammunition before his brother, 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, dragged his body under a vehicle while fleeing the scene.
Authorities say the medical examiner has determined the cause of Tamerlan Tsarnaev's death but it will remain private until his remains are released and a death certificate is filed. His parents are still in Russia, but he has other relatives on his side of the family in the U.S.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is charged with using a weapon of mass destruction to kill, a crime that carries a potential death sentence. He lies in a prison hospital after being wounded in the shootout with police as he and his brother made their getaway attempt.
DeLuca said Tamerlan Tsarnaev's widow met with law enforcement "for many hours over the past week" and will continue cooperating. FBI agents on Monday visited her parents' North Kingstown, Rhode Island, home, where she has been staying, and carried away several bags.
"Katherine and her family continue to be deeply saddened by the harm that has been caused," DeLuca said Tuesday.
Terrel Harris, a spokesman for the Department of Public Safety, said Tuesday evening that the state had not yet received Russell's request to release her husband's body.
He said arrangements must be made to release the body and once that happens a death certificate will be filed and the cause of death made public. He said it is too soon to speculate on when that might happen.

Why Are So Many Young People Attempting Suicide !!

Is the stress in life for young people that many of them feel that there only option is suicide? Personally, I believe that present day society and all of its demands to be successful in life are so overwhelming for all of us that we look for relief and release. The number of persons in society who take antidepressant and other psychotropic drugs for mental and emotional issues are pandemic. The politics of life, unethical politicians, greedy entrepreneurs, poor home training or rearing are all factors in poor mental and emotional health. We need to be really concerned and offer hope

(CBS/WKRC/AP) CINCINNATI - Officials say the Ohio teen who tried to commit suicide with a gun in front of 22 other students in his first-period classroom at La Salle High School on Monday was an honors student, according toCBS affiliate WKRC.
La Salle High School, west of Cincinnati, was locked down until after police arrived and determined there was no threat to other students or staff. A University of Cincinnati Medical Center spokeswoman reported the student's condition as critical Monday afternoon, about six hours after the shooting.
Green Township Police Chief Bart West described the weapon as a semi-automatic handgun. He said police were investigating how the student obtained the gun and how he brought it into the school.
West said there were 22 other students in the classroom, and the episode was over "in a matter of seconds" with no other students injured or apparently threatened. Several students called 911 dispatchers.
"There's a guy with a gun," said a student who called on his cellphone from inside a nearby locked room. "We just need police here ...."
"We're huddled in a corner," another student said in a call.
There was conflicting information on precisely what time the shooting took place, but school officials said it was during the first class period of the day.
Hospital spokeswoman Diana Maria Lara released a statement from the boy's parents thanking people for their thoughts and prayers while asking for privacy "so that we can do what we need to for our son and family." They praised the hospital medical staff's "heroic efforts."
West said the student apparently was trying to kill himself, but he had no information on why. School officials described him as an honors student with 80 hours of community service, and didn't know of any threats to the school or any other students. The Hamilton County sheriff's office said it would search the building with dogs as a precaution against explosives, but said they had no indication there were any other weapons.
Students, some in tears, gathered in the school gym after the shooting. The school's website said all students were safe, and were being released to parents "due to an attempted suicide involving one student." Grief counselors from the Roman Catholic archdiocese joined the school's counselors in meeting with students and staff, and Monday evening school activities were canceled.
School officials said classes would resume Tuesday, with the school day beginning in a prayer service.

No Question In My Mind Saudi Women Abused Regularly

Saudi Arabia's first domestic violence campaign: Advert features woman with black eye showing beneath burka

  • Striking image of Saudi abuse victim is first of its kind in Islamic kingdom
  • Campaign launched by charity to encourage women to report violence
  • All women in Saudi Arabia must have a male guardian
This arresting image of a Saudi woman, her bruised eye visible through her burka, is the first ever anti-domestic violence advert in the oppressive kingdom.
In what could be a sign of long-awaited progress for the female population of Saudi Arabia - where all women must have a male guardian - the No More Abuse campaign is intended to encourage victims to report domestic violence.
The advert shows the female victim, who is clad in a burka that masks all but her eyes, gazing into the camera above the message: 'Some things can't be covered'.

Beneath the caption are the words: 'Fighting women's abuse together'.
Women in the conservative Islamic kingdom are prohibited from voting and from driving, and are kept largely segregated from men in public places.

The advert is the work of the King Khalid Foundation, a charity established by the family of the late monarch, who ruled from 1975 until his death in 1982.
A translation of a statement on the foundation's website reads: 'The phenomenon of battered women in Saudi Arabia is much greater than is apparent on the surface... is a phenomenon found in the dark.'
It described a 'comprehensive system to deal with violence and abuse of family in order to provide legal protection for women and children from abuse in Saudi Arabia.'
Domestic violence is believed to be endemic in parts of Saudi Arabia, where women - regardless of age - live under the control of a male relative who acts as their guardian.
They require the permission of their guardian for everything from opening a bank account to accepting a marriage proposal.
The patriarchal system means many instances of abuse go unreported.
Earlier this month a report in a Saudi newspaper said the kingdom's religious police had lifted a ban preventing women from riding bikes and motorcycles in public places.
It said women would be allowed to ride bicycles and motorbikes in parks and recreational areas, provided they were accompanied by a male relative and dressed in the full Islamic head-to-toe abaya.
Saudi Arabia’s strict interpretation of Islam means women must cover their entire body with a black cloak known as an abaya and headcovering, or hijab, leaving just the eyes and the hands exposed.

Conventions for dress and behaviour are all fiercely enforced by the notorious religious police, or mutaween, whose official title is the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice.
In 2009, the World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap report ranked Saudi Arabia 130th out of 134 countries for gender parity.

Insane Mothers Keep Coming Forward

Mother in UK forced 14-year-old to get pregnant

LONDON (AP) — A woman desperate for another child forced her 14-year-old daughter to get pregnant using syringes of donor sperm, a British judge said.
In a ruling reported for the first time Monday, High Court judge Peter Jackson said the mother had behaved in "a wicked and selfish way" that almost defied belief.
The judge said the woman, an American divorcee living in Britain with three adopted children, hatched the plan after she was prevented from adopting a fourth.
The scheme involved getting her oldest daughter to inseminate herself with syringes of sperm purchased over the Internet from a Denmark-based company, Cryos International.
Jackson said the daughter, identified only as A, "became pregnant at the mother's request, using donor sperm bought by the mother, with the purpose of providing a fourth child for the mother to bring up as her own."
In his ruling, the judge quoted the teenager as saying said she was shocked by the suggestion, but thought, "If I do this ... maybe she will love me more."
"My mum is a very determined person and she does her best not to let anything get in her way if she wants it," the teenager added.
The judge said the mother also made the teenager use douches of vinegar or lemon and lime juice in hopes of increasing her chances of having a girl.
The judge said it was likely but not certain that the daughter soon became pregnant and suffered a miscarriage. After six more attempts with the donor sperm, she gave birth to a baby boy in July 2011, when she was 17.
But midwives at the hospital became alarmed by the odd behavior of A's mother. Her daughter wanted to breastfeed the baby, but her mother said: "We don't want any of that attachment thing."
The hospital alerted the authorities, and the children were taken into foster care. The mother is now serving a five-year jail term for child cruelty.
Details of the case were heard during proceedings at the family division of the High Court over the children's future last year. They were reported for the first time Monday after several British media organizations, including the publisher of The Guardian newspaper, challenged reporting restrictions.
A court order bars identifying the family members in order to protect the children.

And America Is Still Not Racist ?????

Georgia holds first interracial school prom

Teenagers in a pocket of rural Georgia have held their first integrated school prom, ending decades of racial segregation that kept black and white pupils apart.

The inaugural "Love Has No Colour" event proved to be a great success after being organised by a group of school-leavers from Wilcox County High School in Rochelle.
They were forced to take matters into their own hands after teachers and parents refused to break with the county's 40-year tradition of holding separate proms.
"We live in rural south Georgia, where not too many things change, the group of four girls – two black and two white – said in a statement. "We want to make a difference in our community."
Hundreds of students, dressed in tuxedos and ball gowns, danced and celebrated the end of their school days at the prom, which the group funded via donations made over Facebook.
"Hopefully when everything is said and done, people in our county will really realise that there is no sense in the way things are right now," Mareisha Rucker, one of the organisers, told local TV news.
"I feel like we are living Martin Luther King's dream," added Alexis Miller, a white student who took her black boyfriend as her date.
The event's official Facebook page was yesterday inundated with messages of congratulations and support from around the world. "The future is lucky to have you," wrote Tricia Gerhardt.
Despite racial segregation in American schools being outlawed some 60 years ago, Wilcox County has continued holding separate proms classified as private events organised by parents.
The so-called "white prom" quietly went ahead earlier this month, after school authorities declined to step in. Students and parents refused to comment to reporters who waited outside.
Parents who sent their children to the segregated prom have previously told reporters that the ongoing racial separation is justified because black and white pupils enjoy different types of music.
Amid sharp criticism, the school's management has continued to stress on its website that the events are "private parties" over which it "has no influence". In a petition to Nathan Deal, the governor of Georgia, the NAACP pressure group called for "an end to segregated proms, homecomings, and other school related social events".
Steve Smith, the local schools superintendent, has said that a proposal for an official integrated prom in 2014 will be made to school administrators.

Love Meredith, Still Don't Like Matt

'Meredith Vieira' '/' NBC

Meredith Vieira isn't on "Today" anymore, but she feels loyal to the morning show and her former co-host, Matt Lauer.

Vieira told the New York Post she won't be reading Brian Stelter's juicy page turner, "Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV." The book dishes the dirt on "Today" and includes anecdotes about Vieira. "I'm not interested," she said. "I'm over it ... I've kind of been-there-done-that, and I don't know what the interest is."

Vieira added that although she understands why Stelter wrote the book, she can't support it because she cares for her former coworkers.

"I don't want to get on a high horse, because I understand why people write it," she said. "I'm not trying to say he's wrong to do it, but I look at it and it's so personal to me. It's my friends."

Most of all, Vieira said she feels bad for Lauer, who has been pummeled in the press for his role in Ann Curry's firing and his bullying of Anderson Cooper, his possible replacement. A couple of weeks ago, Lauer joked that he is less popular than polio.

"Even if (NBC) blew it from a P.R. point of view, you've got to move on," Vieira said. "I think what is happening to Matt is really wrong."
